The Chromecast is a great device. With the media player you can watch Netflix, YouTube, Video, and other popular streaming services on your tv. Recently, Google the ‘Ambient mode’ of the Chromecast, and via the Google Home app, you can customize it.
The settings for the Chromecast Ambient mode, follow the steps below.
Open the Google Home app on your smartphone; Open the side menu top left corner on the three lines button, and select ‘Devices’; You will then see an overview with all the Chromecasts in your home. Press the Chromecast that you want to fit on the three dots at the top right, and select ‘Ambient settings’ Choose a different background for your ChromecastYou can then make various adjustments. At the top, for example, three options for the ‘Active Mode’, which determines what exactly is displayed if no video is playing. You have the choice of your favourite albums on Google Photos, a Google-created selection of beautiful images and works of art, or the new experimental mode.
If you choose that last option, you can also choose the mode for low bandwidth enable. The shown images have a lower resolution, which is useful if you have slow internet or have an internet plan with a data limit.
A little lower in the menu you can customize what is there in the ambient mode, is displayed, such as weather, time, and details about the image. Finally, you can even customize how often the image is adjusted.
