Ford and Volvo have the maximum score in the crash test of EuroNCAP. Both the new Focus as the XC40 will get five stars.

EuroNCAP, the results of the latest crash tests. The organization put it, this time the new Ford Focus and the Volvo XC40 against the wall. Both cars bring it from and get the maximum score of five stars.

The two newcomers are equipped with various driver assistance systems, such as a noodremsysteem with pedestrians and fietsersdetectie. Partly because of this, pick up both models a good score on the part of active safety: the Focus 75 percent and the XC40 76 percent.

Volvo, on the part protection of occupants in an exceptionally high score of 97 percent. Only four other cars did the past 3 years, such a high score (Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and Volvo XC60). Also the Ford Focus on the most important part of a good assessment, namely 85 percent. Both models have a score of 87 percent for the protection of children on the test report. The protection of vulnerable road users is good for 71 and 72 percent, respectively for the Volvo and the Ford.
